In the east side of Ruma upazila, a mound named 'Nighting Mouza', located within 29 km from the bank of the river Shankh. The lake is situated on the top of a hill belonging to the Pulte mountain range of this mound.

According to geologists of Bangladesh, Bagkain lake was created due to the eruption of the dead volcano or the fall of the volcanic eruption from space. Many people have expressed their opinion that it may be created due to landslides. The Bhutan Foundation consists of soft rock. Its water is quite acidic. Although there is no real evidence of this passage, nevertheless, the formation of a fire or a dragon or a lizard of fire in the foresight of the fossil coincides with the idea of dead volcanoes.
